American Peony Society Gold Medal winner – 2013. Mackinac Grand is large semi-double red with nicely ruffled petals. red colored hybrid that will flower early in the season. The dark red colored buds will open slowly and will unfold into deep bright red colored flowers. Not a lot of varieties can match the intense red color that Mackanic Grand will show you. The variety is very productive which makes this a very good variety to use as a cut flower peony. Mackanic Grand will perform well in all climates including greenhouse cultivation. This variety can also be used as a garden peony.
